To contact the conference organizers, write to duskovaj@ibt.cas.cz.

Contributions in the form of a talk (20 min including discussion) or a poster are welcome. It is possible to introduce your poster in a flash talk (2 min, 2-3 slides).

Conference fees

Student 4300 CZK (3400 CZK without accommodation)
Non-student 6600 CZK (5700 CZK without accommodation)
Single occupancy accommodation – add 1000 CZK
Members of CSSB will have the personal fee (300 CZK) subtracted from the paid amount.

The conference fee covers participation in the whole program, the printed book of abstracts for each participant, accommodation for two nights and full board (including breakfasts and coffee breaks).
The first meal is dinner on Thursday and the last meal is lunch on Saturday.

Student competition

The Czech Society for Structural Biology invites all student presentations at the XX Discussions in Structural Molecular Biology and the 7th User Meeting of CIISB to compete in two categories:– Prize of the Czech Society for Structural Biology for an outstanding student poster– Prize of the Czech Society for Structural Biology for an outstanding student presentation. The competing author must be a student (undergraduate or post-graduate studies) or a fresh PhD (less than one year from the defense of PhD thesis) at the time of the Discussions. A maximum of three prizes will be awarded in each category at the end of the Conference. Each prize includes one book related to structural biology or molecular biology selected by the winner.

The event is organized by the Czech Society for Structural Biology, the Czech Infrastructure for Integrative Structural Biology, and the Institute of Biotechnology of the Czech Academy of Sciences.

We thank our sponsors for making this event possible.

Arrival Instructions

Make sure you arrive with sufficient time left before the start of the program, as some of you have accommodation in a certain distance from the Conference venue.

For the main meals (breakfast, lunch, dinner) we must split into two groups. Your name tag will have a mark (a sticker or similar) which means that you dine downstairs in the restaurant of the Castle. No sticker – you dine on the main floor.

We ask speakers to copy their presentation on the conference room computer well BEFORE the session and the chair persons to help speakers test their presentations. There will be strict timing of the lectures, unless marked otherwise in the program, you have 15 minutes to speak and 5 minutes for discussion.

The poster session in the Blue saloon (just in front of the entrance) will be held on Friday evening. The posters (size  92 x 118 cm) should be put up after Friday lunch and taken down after the poster session or on Saturday morning. Some poster boards will use pins, some glue tag (zvykacka), these will be provided.

The goal of the competition is to motivate young scientists to work in the field, to support a high level of research and study at Czech and Slovak universities in this field, and to contribute to the involvement of young scientists in the community of structural biologists and related fields.

The prize includes a monetary reward of 25,000 CZK in the form of a scholarship and coverage of the regular conference fee for XX Discussions 2024

Deadline for submitting application: January 8, 2024
Announcement of results: not later than February 15, 2024

More details you can find at PhDThesisAward.
